Man & Wife

It's official, we're married!! It was more magical than I could have ever imagined! Everything we planned so hard for went off without a hitch. Morning massages with my favorite ladies. Getting ready in a hotel room FULL of hair, make-up, and photographers was so crazy/fun. Jake and I shared our vows looking out over a gorgeous view of colorful changing leaves at Snowbird. We both cried like babies. Obviously we had to get the perfect pictures so we hiked up a mountain..dress and all. Later, danced our brains out with the best friends and family. The next morning we headed to Seattle to jump on our cruise ship to ALASKA! Saying Alexis Rogers is still super weird, but I'm getting used to it. Unfortunately, our wedding video and photos will be a while. It is pure torture waiting for them. In the mean time..Stay tuned for pics from each port of our adventure the next couple of posts.

School, Work, Play...Exercise?

The wedding is practically a day away, and I just can't believe it. All this hard work is finally going to pay off. I have been so insanely busy I can't even tell you. Floating in homework that I have been trying to finish before the wedding/honeymoon, pilates, running last minute errands, working, and packing.

School has been a great distraction of getting to overwhelmed with wedding details. I am in my last year of my undergrad so, classes are getting intense. The thing is, I love my major. Everyday in class I learn something that contributes to my life. I am so passionate about health, and I want to inspire everyone around me to be as well. My Health Promotion professor always leaves class with a quote. Here is one that left me thinking...

"Are good health and good life the same thing?"

Being healthy has such a huge impact on each individual's life. I wish everyone really understood the importance of eating right, exercising, and having a balance in all other aspects of life. Something I need to be better at is stress management. I laugh every time I think about it, because I always take on way more than I should. I found that no matter how busy I am I need to find a way to work out. It helps me to relieve stress and tension. My cousin Katie invited my mom and me to try her pilates studio Intermountain Pilates. Now, I have an addiction. I encourage you to find an area in your life that you are lacking in and push yourself to fill the void.

On Wednesday I got to go out for a shared belated birthday dinner with my hair besties. It was so fun to just take a few minutes..that turned into hours... to sit down and catch up with good friends. Although, the whole time I was hyperventilating thinking about the mess and homework that was waiting for me when I got home. I  sure got some cute goodies from Kar, and Nicolette gave me a gift card to Nordys. We ate at Cheesecake Factory, which is right across the street from Nordstroms. I ran right over there and purchased my B-day goodies!

Intro

About him, her, and a pup...

A few of my friends have been bugging me to start up a blog, so here ya go.

HER... Alexis

I'm busy girl juggling college, working at a hair salon, a new pup, and a soon to be husband.  Life is nuts, but what can you do!? Currently attending my senior year of the University of Utah, obtaining a degree in Health and Promotions. I recently graduated from Paul Mitchell the school Salt Lake City, and now working in a cute little salon in Holladay called Hair Today. I would consider myself a foodie and kind of a nutritional freak. Don't get me wrong, I have guilty pleasures too. Objective of the blog is to share my crazy life, nutritional tips, homemade meals, hair fun, and events. Kinda just a cluster of things..which is basically what my day to day life consists of haha.

HIM...Jake

a ruggedly handsome man who I'm lucky enough to call my future hubby. He just finished EMT and Fire Academy to become a fireman. Currently employed with Unified Fire Authority as a part time fireman. While testing with various other cities he is going to school to be a paramedic. His ideal day would be watching sports then heading over to Jordan Commons to get a "sammie" (aka sandwich) and catch a flick. He is my handyman and helps me with any little project. Since Jake and I started dating he has learned a new way of eating. He is always open to new foods he has never tried, even if they look questionable. I have come to peace with the fact I'll never be able to take away the chips and queso haha.

PUP...Oakley

a crazy little Aluskie (Siberian Husky/ Alaskan Malamute). Only being 12 weeks old he has made a big impact on our little family. He is growing like a weed, and loves to chew on anything, is pooping outside (woot, woot), eats like a pig, and pisses off my mom's yorkie Peanut.
